WHEELTHROWING (AGES 12 and up) MEETS ONCE PER WEEK

Beginner through advanced students will learn the basic techniques of working with clay, with demonstrations accompanying the instructions. Students will practice throwing and shaping the basic forms of the cylinder and bowl on the potters wheel, to create functional and decorative pieces. Form and function will be discussed, and attention to detail emphasized. Trimming and glazing techniques are also be covered.

HANDBUILDING (AGES 12 and up) MEETS ONCE PER WEEK

Open to all skill levels,students will learn to build and create forms using pinch, coil and slab methods of handbuilding. Once learned these methods can be used to create a variety of functional or sculptural forms. Creative approaches to surface texture and decoration are explored. Students are encouraged to find their own voice in clay.

Payment is due on or before the first day of class.

Any missed classes are to be made up before the end of a session.

Tuition includes use of tools, glazes, firing and upto 25 lbs of clay.
